Thomas(Goodreads Author) 3.73 Rating details 141 ratings 31 reviews In the late 1800s, deep in the woods of a small New England town, something was called forth for the purposes of revenge and death. ![]() Born To Bleed was just action and kind of dumb. It was some of the best horror I have ever come across. Lack of Tension: Summer I Died would not let you go. A little different, but for the most part a repeat. Instead Thomas gave us pretty much the same story structure. Repeat of last story: I would have enjoyed this much more if Thomas had taken his character from Summer I Died and instead put him into Bridges of Madison County. Reincarnage & Reincursion by Ryan Harding & Jason Taverner leans more Friday the 13th Jason than Evil Dead but has everyone picked off one by one in a closed off location and is fairly gory. The best parts of this story take place before the action begins (therapist session, lake scene). Sounds like exactly what I'm looking for. ![]() What makes a story like this good is not the action, but building to that action. He is currently working on new novels, including part 4 of the Roger Huntington saga. Negatives: Character Development: Character development was almost nil. Thomas is the author of several novels, including The Summer I Died, Born to Bleed, Scars of the Broken, Bugboy, Hissers, Hissers 2, Salticidae, The Undead World of Oz, and Ratings Game, as well as many novellas and short stories. But this one lacked everything that made Summer I Died worth the time. ![]()
